After many years' presence in its machine tool plant in Kingsbury Road, Birmingham, Cincinnati Machine has moved its headquarters to another of Birmingham's iconic buildings, the former Fort Dunlop.

The MAG Industrial Automation Systems facility at Fort Dunlop will not only provide a new permanent headquarters for MAG Cincinnati - formerly Cincinnati Machine - said the US MAG IAS group, it will bring together for the first time under one roof a single, focused UK centre for the MAG IAS group Fort Dunlop will also be home to MAG Cincinnati, MAG Powertrain (including Cross Hueller, Ex-Cell-O and Lamb)and the cross-group support business MAG Maintenance Technologies

It will provide sales and administrative support to all MAG IAS companies.

The MAG Cincinnati UK design and development centre at Fort Dunlop will be supported from a newly refurbished facility at MAG Cincinnati's former headquarters in Kingsbury Road.

It will continue to work on the CFV and FTV programmes as well as developing new machines for UK and global markets.

The first of these new machines, a small vertical machining centre, will be showcased at the EMO 2007 where MAG IAS will have a 3,600m2 stand featuring products from 13 group companies.

Alongside the new range, MAG Cincinnati will demonstrate four machines - the FTV 840-2500, the FTV 5, the CFV 5 and the exciting CFV.

Kingsbury Road will also host the MAG IAS UK technical centre, which will act as a showroom for its product range and a demonstration facility.

It will also be the site of the service parts warehouse and a workshop facility for machine rebuilds and refurbishment.

MAG IAS continues to expand and is an international group with production and support facilities in the UK, US, Europe, Asia and South America.

The group has over 4,300 employees around the world and generated revenues in excess of US$1.5 billion in 2006.

This figure is set to grow by 10% in 2007.

In addition to Cincinnati, Lamb Technicon, Ex-Cell-O and Cross Hueller, machine tool manufacturers in the group include Fadal Machining Centres, Giddings and Lewis, Boeringer, FMS, Hueller Hille, Witzig and Frank and Hessapp.

These are complemented by MAG Maintenance Technologies, probably the world's largest machine tool support organisation, with in excess of 650 service and support technicians worldwide.

The new MAG IAS facility at Fort Dunlop will for the first time give customers access to the complete range of products and services from all these companies through one co-ordinated sales and support operation.

Neil Mantle, the newly-appointed managing director of MAG IAS UK Operations, said: "We have created a new modern facility that will allow us to provide the highest levels of service to our customers and support the growth of MAG IAS in the UK market.

There has never before been this large, focused organisation offering all of our products under a single banner, or indeed an organisation that can offer such an integrated service and support structure.

Bringing all these elements together in one facility will breed communication and co-operation in a way that will really increase our effectiveness and allow us to provide a better service to our customers".

He added: "Fort Dunlop is an iconic building in Birmingham, symbolising the regeneration of our industrial heartland.

It is an ideal home for a business that has taken the strengths and heritage of some of the best respected names in the machine tool industry and created an environment where they can flourish in the future".
