Polyhedral CFD is faster by far
CD-adapco has announced the release of the world's first fully integrated process for polyhedral CFD.
After dominating the middle season with four consecutive victories between Catalunya and Montreal, (contributing to an overall tally of eight Renault F1 Team wins for the season), Alonso Started the Brazilian Grand Prix knowing that just a single point would be enough to secure his second world title.
With a typical display of cool driving under pressure, that result was never in doubt.
Together with team-mate Giancarlo Fisichella's battling sixth position, Alonso's comfortable second place was enough to complete a clean-sweep of titles, securing the FIA Formula One Constructors' World Championship for the Renault F1 Team for a second consecutive season.

Of the points awarded during the 2006 season, incredibly almost 70% have been awarded to teams that use Star-CD or Star-CCM+ for aerodynamic or engine simulation.
