CDR Pumps has added a new heavy duty baseplate design to complement its already extensive range of chemical process pumps It is widely acknowledged that one of the primary cause of pump unit failures are caused by bearing failures of either the electric motor or pump, and so it is common practice for condition monitoring and laser alignment to be implemented to maximise operational life

Magnetic drive pumps avoid aggressive leakage
CDR magnetic drive pumps lend themselves particularly to handling aggressive liquids, such as are used in chemical milling, which can easily contaminate the surrounding area with the slightest leak.
All CDR pumps are laser aligned at our manufacturing facility prior to despatch, and it is highly recomended to laser align upon installation, and then again after c.100 operational hours CDR's new heavy duty baseplate design provides maximum rigidity to pump and motor assembly and includes 8 point motor alignment bolts, manufactured from heavy duty steel sections, painted in two pack epoxy paint finish as standard, and offeres the option for stainless steel drip pan.
The addition complements the current baseplate design, which offeres a cost effective solution, but the addition of the heavy duty design will allow long term operational life to be considered in the purchasing process of new plant.
