Five-axis VMCs offer pendelum operations
Five-axis travelling column VMCs feature a rotary and tilting table at one end of the machine and a plain table at the other.
Hedelius Maschinenfabrick of Meppen, Germany have now introduced their Kombi range of 5-Axis travelling column vertical machining centres to the UK This model is based on the successful range of travelling column vertical machining centres that Hedelius have been manufacturing since 1988, with more than 1,200 machines now installed in Germany

Vertical machining centre with a travelling column design and integrated rotary dual-pallet indexing system provides higher levels of productivity and output and efficient workpiece loading/unloading.
Wide range of CNC machines will suit all tastes
High speed lathes, as well as vertical and horizontal machining centres, to suit all tastes, will be exhibited at Mach 2002 by C Dugard.
Three sizes are available in this range, the 60, 80 and 100.
All the sizes have the same principle, that is a rotary and tilting table at one end of the machine and a plain table at the other.
This allows for pendulum operation of the column giving the advantages of twin pallet facility without the costs and complications.
The OX Axis range from 2000mm on the RS60, 3200 mm on the RS80 and 4500mm on the RS100, with the OY Axis being 620mm on the RS60, 800mm on the RS80 and 1000mm on the RS100.
Spindle speeds on the RS60 range from 8,000 to 24,000 rev/min with a choice of 40 ISO or HSK spindle tapers.
The spindle power of the RS60 is from 16 to 35kW.
The RS80 is from 8,000 to 18,000 rpm with the power from 25 to 35kW.
On the RS100 the spindle speed is from 5,000 to 12,000 rpm with the power being 50kW.
A full range of optional equipment is available to enhance the operation and efficiency of the machine, this includes items such as: * Coolant through the spindle.
* Full enclosures and dust extraction.
* Swarf and coolant filtration systems.
* Right angle attachements.
* Tool pick up stations for oversize tools.
Also recently announced for the Hedelius range is the Formingstar high power 16,000 rpm spindle for the BC80 and BC100 machines.
This spindle is water cooled and is rated at 50kW.
The spindle is specifically designed for of aluminium and mould applications. Request a free brochure from C Dugard ...
