Vertical machining centre offers stable
cutting

Featuring heavy duty cast iron design with substantial ribbing to maximise rigidity and minimise vibration under cutting conditions, a VMC performs heavy duty milling.

Featuring heavy duty cast iron design with substantial ribbing for the column and machine base to maximise rigidity and minimise any effects of vibration under cutting conditions, means the latest Dugard Eagle 1000 vertical machining centre is able to perform heavy duty milling, drilling and tapping cycles to match the highest standards of any comparable machines In addition, due to the high structural integrity of the machine, positional accuracy is specified within four microns and repeatability +/-0.002mm

The Eagle 1000, available from C Dugard of Hove in the UK and its network of numerous dealers throughout Europe, has a table size of 1000mm by 510mm and is able to accept loads up to 600kg.

The X axis travel is 1020mm and 510mm available in Y and Z which can be covered at rapid traverse rates of 30m/min in X and Y and 24m/min over the Z-axis stroke.

All slideways are carried on the latest Tsubaki high rigidity linear guideways.

There are various specifications of counter-balanced spindle available with 15kW, 8,000 rev/min from Fanuc, 13kW - 8,000 rev/min from Siemens and further options of a 10,000 rev/min unit or a 12,000 rev/min with refrigeration.

These high performance spindles are served by a 20 station carousel as standard with options of 24 or 32 station magazines for tools up to 76mm diameter.

Through the tool coolant can also be specified along with choices of spindle probing, tool setting probes and automatic tool length measurement.

At the EMO 2005 exhibition in Hannover, Germany, the Dugard Eagle 1000 was shown under control of the latest Heidenhain TNC 530i with 6GB hard disc memory and Heidenhain's popular conversational programming system.

However, Fanuc OiMB, or either Siemens 802D or 810D with ShopMill software can be specified and the machine can be installed prepared for fourth axis operation or fitted with a fourth axis rotary table and drive. Request a free brochure from C Dugard ...
