Travelling column VMC has dual-pallet
indexing
Vertical machining centre with a travelling column design and integrated rotary dual-pallet indexing system provides higher levels of productivity and output and efficient workpiece loading/unloading.
Introducing a new vertical machining centre to the UK from the range of Korea's largest machine tool builder Hyundai-Kia, C Dugard of Hove, Sussex, UK, selected the Hi-Center V50D for its integrated rotary dual-pallet indexing system and travelling column design The machine is ideal for UK production requirements as it is able to provide higher levels of productivity and output with the added capability to perform metal cutting cycles while simultaneously being loaded and unloaded

CNC range established for quality and performance
A full range of options are available to enhance the operation of a range of vertical machining centres and CNC lathes that have established a reputation for quality and performance.
Long-bed VMCs cut cycle times by 15%
Two long bed travelling-column style vertical machining centres at aerospace sub-contractor have cut cycle times by at least 15% n a variety of three-axis parts.
Powered by a 15kW high torque 8,000 rev/min motor as standard with the option of an 11kW, 10,000 rev/min drive, the NT40 taper spindle is serviced by a 24 tool disc magazine (30 tool option) with a 2.5s tool to tool change time via a double-arm changer.
The machining volume is 600mm in X, 460mm in Y and 570mm in Z with the 700mm wide, dual table having a clamping surface of 500mm each side of centre line and able to accept a total loading of 700kg.
The single casting bed, moving column and saddle are all cast in fine grain Meehanite with hardened and ground integral ways able to withstand heavy cutting forces and provide good vibration damping.
Positioning accuracy is +/-5 microns and repeatability +/-2 microns in each axis.
A spindle cooling unit is available as an option.
A large coolant tank of 300 litres is isolated from the machine bed and can be rolled out for easy cleaning.
High volume flood coolant is standard with through-the-spindle coolant available if required with a choice of 20, 30 or 70 bar pressure supply.
Control is through Fanuc Oi MB with rigid tapping and optional fourth-axis units can further improve productivity. Request a free brochure from C Dugard ...
