More VMCs, HMCs and CNC lathes planned
Hyundai-Kia's range of 35 lathe and turning centre variants, 23 types of VMCs and a 10 model range of HMCs - some to be shown at MACH 2006 - is due to be expanded during the year.
Following the decision made last year by Hyundai-Kia Machine, South Korea's largest machine tool builder with sales in 2004 of $380 million, for C Dugard to represent them in the UK, the Hove Sussex machine tool company will be portraying a selection from its range of 68 models at MACH 2006 on stand 5237 in Hall 5 These machines, under power, will be in addition to its top-selling Dugard Eagle range of machines and further high-tech agencies of Hedelius machining centres from Germany, Die Edel simultaneous five-axis rotating head milling centres, specialist floor and horizontal boring machines from TOS and competitively priced vertical turning centres and lathes from You Ji in Taiwan

High speed lathes, as well as vertical and horizontal machining centres, to suit all tastes, will be exhibited at Mach 2002 by C Dugard.
Travelling column VMC has dual-pallet indexing
Vertical machining centre with a travelling column design and integrated rotary dual-pallet indexing system provides higher levels of productivity and output and efficient workpiece loading/unloading.
So successful has Dugard been during 2005 that it closed the year with the biggest order book in its trading history of some GBP 3.9 million, almost 30% up on a year earlier.
These sales have included 'big ticket' contracts from the aerospace and medical sector as well as subcontract and tooling manufacturers.
Here, a key element in the success of Dugard's sales operation has been the in-depth knowledge of pre-owned equipment that enables more competitive deals to be formulated direct with customers.

Double-acting ballscrew cuts machine downtime
Very fast-moving mill-tap centres, zippy machining centres and a very nippy pick-up spindle vertical turning lathe are the results of applying a double-acting ballscrew axis drive.
Indeed, with the vast international trading network of C Dugard, Hyundai-Kia, that is part of the $2.8 billion Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group and one of the world's biggest corporations, has made the decision that the Hove company should also represent its machine tool division in the Russian sales territory in as well as the UK market.
During 2005, Dugard set up its 'Express Delivery Scheme' for its own Dugard Eagle range of lathes and machining centres which gave direct from stock supply to customers.
At a stroke this scheme fuelled export sales as well as UK market business.
For example, from the Poznan 2005 exhibition in Poland three Eagle machines worth GBP 180,000 were shipped from Hove within five days of order placement at the show.
Hyundai-Kia's range of 35 lathe and turning centre variants, 23 types of vertical machining centres and a 10 model range of horizontal machining centres is due to be expanded during 2006 to include 'big bore' lathes with a capacity up to 1300mm, new Y-axis mill/turn centres, a tilting mill/turn head lathe and a new range of two-spindle, two-turret turning centres, long bed turning machines and mill/turn centre developments.
For the mould and die sectors, high stability five-axis machines are also planned as well as 40 taper medium and economy specification vertical machining centres, new high speed ranges of horizontal machining centres and table-type machines with 40 and 50 taper and up to 15,000 rev/min spindles.
Some of these developments could be ready for the UK market by MACH 2006 however, details will be available on the Dugard stand 5237 during the exhibition.
