Low-cost turning and MCs cost under GBP 50,000
High-speed vertical turning and machining centres offering production times that are significantly faster than current machines can achieve - with up to 96m/min rapids - cost under GBP 50,000.
Double-acting ballscrew cuts machine downtime
Very fast-moving mill-tap centres, zippy machining centres and a very nippy pick-up spindle vertical turning lathe are the results of applying a double-acting ballscrew axis drive.
This customisation will be demonstrated on the Eagle 1000, 660 and 600 vertical machining centres which will be respectively controlled by Heidenhain, Siemens and Fanuc systems.
A Dugard Eagle 200 lathe will be under power as well as the very competitively priced Eagle 32 CNC sliding headstock, 7-axis turn/mill centre with subspindle and driven tools which sells from around GBP 35,000 in a ready to run package - half the price of a conventional sliding head auto.
From Hyundai-Kia the latest SKT 21 VM vertical spindle, travelling column self-loading lathe, SKT 210 SY turning centre with subspindle, C and Y-axes and driven tools and a three-axis SKT 250 MS turn/mill centre with 76mm bar and 254mm chuck size will represent the turning range of machines.
An Hi 50D, 600mm by 460mm by 570mm, 24 tool, 20kW vertical machining centre and VX 500 large stroke vertical machining centre having 1060mm by 510mm by 635mm axis travels and 1200mm by 500mm table will also be demonstrated alongside the Hedelius.
The advantage of the Hedelius RS 80 K Combi is the capability to machine reference surfaces in the right hand area of the machine at the initial clamping with full five-axis simultaneous cutting, locating from the previously machined datum surface, to the other five sides of the component in the left hand working area of the machine.
From You Ji a new vertical turning centre will be shown with C-axis, auto tool change and 1200 mm diameter table.
This machine will be priced at GBP 252,700 and is believed to hold the market leading position for a combination of functionality and price.
