VMC rigidity favours high metal removal
rates

Vertical machining centre shown at MACH 2006 revealed its in-built rigidity from high grade FC-30 iron castings with a vibration absorbing ribbed structure for high stock removal, when milling.

Developed for a very cost-effective performance and capability with ISO 40 spindle options of 15,000, 10,000 or 8,000 rev/min under control of Fanuc OiMB control, the latest Dugard Eagle 600 vertical machining centre shown at MACH 2006, UK last week, revealed its in-built rigidity from high grade FC-30 iron castings This level of construction with a vibration absorbing ribbed structure enables the machine to cater for high stock removal, especially when milling

The table size on the machine from C Dugard of Hove, Sussex, is 700mm by 450mm and axis strokes are 600mm in X, 460mm in Y and 500mm in Z.

In addition, a fully integrated fourth axis can be specified as an option.

A 16 tool position carousel will accept tools up to 90mm diameter as standard but with adjacent pockets left empty, this can be increased to 127mm and 6kg in weight.

Toolchange time is 6s.

Rigid tapping is standard.

The all new heavy duty compact guarding in the latest blue and silver livery requires a small shopfloor footprint of just 2.2m by 2m and has a very low front opening slide-aside door enabling loads up to 350kg to be easily manipulated onto the table.

Feed rates are fully programmable up to 10m/min with rapid rates of 24m/min in each axis to a positioning accuracy of +0.005mm and repeatability of +0.004 mm.

Typical of all C Dugard specified machines is the range of options available to enable customers to tailor the machine to their requirements.

For instance, in addition to the spindle speed variants there are options of 7.5kW or 9.2kW motors, through spindle coolant at 10 to 20 bar pressure, a higher pressure coolant pump and further control systems of Siemens 802D or 810D with ShopMill software. Request a free brochure from C Dugard ...
