An on-line auction of 74 second-hand showroom machines drew sales worth over GBP 350,000, clearing space for engineers to tool up machine tools for special projects.

Wide range of CNC machines will suit all tastes
High speed lathes, as well as vertical and horizontal machining centres, to suit all tastes, will be exhibited at Mach 2002 by C Dugard.
Dugard engaged Law and Cottrill (Auctioneers and Valuers) to perform the 'real time' auction of 74 used machines which drew over 400 of their clients into on-line bidding.
So successful was the auction that it resulted in 62 machines being sold of which more than 70% will be despatched overseas.
John Law a director of Law and Cottrill described bidding as brisk and creating a lot of interest because of the high quality of the part exchange and ex-demonstration machines.
* PDI checks - the extra space was required because when Dugard Eagle machines are delivered to Hove from the Taiwanese factory, that builds the range and is 33% owned by C Dugard, a specialist team of five engineers performs complete PDI checks.
These take time because they cover specification, health and safety compliance, machine performance, control and software and quality of build before delivery to the customer.
Added Dugard: "The growing Eagle range and level of sales means we have a lot of demand for showroom space.
We do not believe in the 'drop and ship' to customers strategy.
When one of our two crews delivers machines for installation we want to know it's exactly what the customer ordered and it will go into production without any problems".
As a further indication of increased business at Hove, sales last year increased by 25% to GBP 19 million, made up of a large increase in Dugard Eagle, Hyundai-Kia and 5-axis turnkey projects. Request free introductory details about products from C Dugard ...
