C Dugard has introduced the compact Eagle 450-XP high speed drill/tap/mill centre which can be customised to a specific production requirement with choice of spindle.

The Eagle 450-XP has a 700mm x 320mm table carried on a wide slideway of a heavily ribbed Mehanite casting that weighs some 2.2 tonnes.
Travels in X-, Y- and Z-axis are 450mm, 350mm and 380mm respectively.
Rapid traverse rate is 36 m/min in each axis.
Positioning accuracy is +0.005mm and repeatability +0.003mm.
A choice can be made of 8,000 rev/min spindles from Fanuc with a 5.5kW drive or 8.5kW from Siemens.
In addition, the Dugard Eagle 450-XP+ version can be specified with a 15,000 rev/min Fanuc spindle drive.
A 12 position tool carousel is standard on the 450-XP with a chip-to-chip automatic tool change (ATC) time of 10s.
There is 16 station, twim-arm toolchanger with an ATC chip-to-ship time of 2s.
A chip management system is provided as standard with powerful flushing and screw conveyor to the rear of the machine.
Control options are Fanuc Oi with 7.2in LCD screen or Siemens 802D carrying a 10.4in colour TFT with graphic display.
