Sealing system cuts costs, increases
productivity
An economical and safe alternative to impulse and cartridge sealing is a low voltage heating system that features a highly accurate, low-mass blade to produce high-integrity seals.
Ceetak, Europe's leading innovator of packaging technology, has launched an economical and safe alternative to impulse and cartridge sealing The low voltage heating (LVH) system features a highly accurate, low-mass blade that conducts heat along its contact axis to create high-integrity seals for all types of packaging applications

Treated O-rings aid the fitting of seals in industrial and automotive applications and significantly reduce the potential of mechanical damage to each O-ring during installation.
Solving control problem caused by lost heat
Ceetak were asked by a major machine manufacturer to redesign its heat seal system incorporating Ceetak's very own LVH system but with key design modifications.
The LVH system includes thermal insulators that ensure heat is conveyed directly to the sealing area rather than being dispersed into the surrounding environment.
This means there is significantly less energy loss and greater heat concentration along the highly-conductive sealing blade.
The system's ingenious silicone anvil has also been specially designed to facilitate strong seals and precise cuts.
Because less energy is wasted and the heat is confined, the ground-breaking LVH sealing and cutting system can operate from a low voltage (max 40v), which reduces running costs, makes wash down safe and simplifies maintenance.
The LVH system's low energy consumption also meets Climate Change Levy stipulations, which encourage energy-efficient technologies.
The LVH system's ingenious alloy blade not only delivers accurate sealing and cutting, when compared to conventional wire and tape filaments, it's tough and resilient construction also minimises maintenance requirements, cuts downtime and increases throughput.
This, along with its pre-assembled power supply, simple mounting requirements and compatible controllers, makes the LVH system an ideal solution for retrofitting projects.
Discussing the power-saving attributes of the LVH system, Ceetak's technical director, Andrew Kownacki, revealed the potential of the system to improve productivity.
"We're competing against the traditional sealing technologies by providing a low-energy consuming, highly-accurate unit that requires minimum maintenance.
Savings can be registered across the entire board; from reduced energy bills, to lower repair costs, to decreased downtime." The LVH system is available in a range of sizes and can be delivered with one of a number of seal bar/anvil configurations.
It is able to process numerous packaging shapes, including circular packages, by utilising a variety of blade materials which produce round dies and continuous sealing.
A prime example of this is the compact rotary version of the LVH.
