Polyurethane sealing compounds that are compatible with media across the entire pH range offer better chemical resistance against hydrolysis in strong alkaline fluids and concentrated acidic solutions

Ceetak is launching an extended range of Polyurethane sealing compounds that have been specially developed by Parker Worldwide Seal Group The PDF Ultrathan range of compounds are based on new derivates of the material and significantly extend the number of potential applications to include products and systems used in the food, water, offshore, chemical and process sectors

Unlike conventional polyurethane compounds, the latest high performance seals are constructed from leading edge compounds that are compatible with media across the entire pH range.

Improved chemical resistance against hydrolysis in strong alkaline fluids and concentrated acidic solutions means that the new seals maintain their performance characteristics in industrial and process environments utilising alcohol/water and ethylene-glycol/water mixtures.

The PDF Ultrathan range is available in Shore hardnesses ranging from 80A5 to 96A5 and offer excellent wear resistance, low friction capability and extrusion resistance.

In particular, new variations include the P4300 high temperature compounds that can be used in high intensity applications where temperatures can reach 145degC for short periods, such as engineering and process industries.

These compounds feature outstanding wear resistance and excellent dynamic properties, not only excellent for high-temperature hydraulics but this compound is being used extensively as shock absorbing buffers.

The P5012 compound is also designed for high temperature applications and can be used in automotive, pneumatics and low pressure hydraulics applications.

It offers exceptional hydrolysis resistance and compatibility with central hydraulic fluids, lubricants and biologically degradable media.

A new low temperature variation, P5075, has also been developed for use in applications where temperatures can fall as low as -45degC, making them suitable for many pneumatics applications, including piston seals and diaphragms.

Seal compounds specially designed for food applications have also been introduced, plus ultra low friction, harsh media resistant and special hydraulic and pneumatic grade compounds.

In particular, Parker has developed a special compound called P5062 with a Shore hardness of 55D*5 and excellent extrusion resistance, even when operating at the higher temperature / pressure hydraulic applications.

Andrew Kownacki, Technical Director at Ceetak explains: "With this extended range of compounds from Parker, Ceetak is now able to offer customers a truly comprehensive range of sealing products for an even wider range of applications than was previously possible.

Once again Parker Worldwide Seal Group has developed new and innovative products that continue to push the boundaries of operating performance and reliability, enabling us to provide our customers with sealing compounds to meet their exact requirements.".
