XYZ Machine Tools based in Burlescombe, Devon has teamed up with Mansfield based CapacityTrader After the success of an initial pilot programme every XYZ machine tool now comes with a six month subscription to CapacityTrader

Explaining why they have teamed up with Capacity Trader, Nigel Atherton, Managing Director of XYZ Machine Tools, said, "We are selling more and more machine tools that need to be kept working".

"So all machines that we sell now come with a standard subscription to CapacityTrader".

"Our machines are both CNC and manual so offer significant advantages to companies that are competing for production and specialist short run business".

"We consider CapacityTrader to be a significant portal for finding business and enabling our clients' to offer their spare capacity".

"With the benefits offered by our machine tool design and the commercial power that CapacityTrader can offer we feel companies purchasing our package will have a significant advantage in a very competitive market place." CapacityTrader is becoming the essential e-commerce tool for all business and engineering managers wishing to move their immediately available capacity.

Precision engineering companies, fabricators and other sub-contractors are spending a few minutes, every day, uploading their spare capacity to the CapacityTrader website.

And purchasing managers are making this website their first port of call when looking for immediate capacity.

Underlining the emphasis companies are putting on e-commerce Eian Green, Managing Director of A Green Engineering, a Lincoln based company, said, "More and more business is being done over the internet".

"And we see this as a significant channel for developing business".

"We already had an XYZ machine tool and recently purchased a further machine to increase our capacity".

"The CapacityTrader standard subscription came free but we were so impressed that we upgraded to the enhanced subscription".

"The portal is easy to use".

"We check every day to see what projects are being opened for tender".

"We also put our spare capacity on the website so people requiring high quality precision machining can invite us to tender, it only takes a few moments every day." Focusing on the economic drivers behind the capacitytrader.com concept and philosophy Andy Priscott, Director of capacitytrader, said, "Sub-contractor engineering businesses need to run at near full capacity to drive their marginal profits".

"This will allow them to invest and grow".

"To run at full capacity, all of the time, is difficult and the sales costs increase substantially as you try to achieve and maintain this position".

"capacitytrader.com offers part of the solution that will help companies move into the 20% of spare capacity that will start to generate 80% of the profits".

"And it's free for six months with every XYZ Machine Tool you purchase.".
