Ceram is presenting a daily seminar about slip resistance and slip resistance testing during the Tile and Stone Show at Excel in London from 1st to 3rd of July.

With slip resistance high on the agenda for the Health and Safety Commission (HSC), manufacturers of ceramic and stone tiles and flooring need to be on their toes to ensure that every precaution has been taken to minimise the risk of accidents So exhibitors and visitors at the Tile and Stone Show will be pleased to know that they will be able to take advantage of expert advice and knowledge on accident prevention from Ceram

Ceram is presenting a daily seminar about slip resistance and slip resistance testing during the three day show, and will be able to give first hand advice to company's which want to ensure that its products measure up to legislation.

The seminars will be presented by Ceram's Jonathan Savage who comments; "The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 states that employers and others who maybe affected by their work are kept safe from harm and their health is not affected.

This means that slips and trips must be controlled to ensure people do not slip, trip or fall ".Our presentations will explain about the HSC's "Slips and Trips" programme and explain how companies can help to reduce the accident statistics.

Statistics show that pedestrian slipping and tripping is the most common cause of injuries in UK workplaces and occurs across all industry sectors.

As a result a "Slips and Trips" programme was created by the HSC to develop a national strategy that would achieve a reduction of 10 percent by 2010.

By the end of 2007/08 the programme aims to deliver an annual reduction of 525 fewer major injuries from a baseline of 10,300.

This will also contribute to a target of reducing work days lost by 9 percent.

The Tile and Stone Show takes place at Excel in London from 1 - 3 July (Sun - Tues) and Ceram's Slip Resistance and Slip Testing Seminars will be held at 3.00pm Sunday, 11.00am Monday and 3.00pm Tuesday. Request free introductory details about products from Ceram ...
