Michael Frisby, Business Development Director at Cobweb Solutions says: "We are delighted to be partnering with MessageLabs".
"At Cobweb, our objective is to improve and grow the portfolio of hosted services we provide".
"This relationship is a continuation of our innovation in the delivery of a fully managed business class email service and provides our customers with best in class email security".
"We can now offer MessageLabs' sophisticated email security services, and the best part is that we are doing this without any additional cost to our customers." Terry Yani, Global VP of Channel at MessageLabs comments: "Although we already cater to the needs of small businesses, by partnering with Cobweb we have been given a fantastic opportunity to target a new area within this market - companies with less than 25 users".
"Organisations of this size deserve the same quality of email protection to that of their larger counterparts".
"Businesses of all sizes are at risk from threats to IT security - it is a serious issue and companies must take the necessary precautions now to protect their business." MessageLabs Annual Intelligence Report 2005 identified an annualised average percentage of 68.6 percent or 1 in 1.46 emails identified as spam.
Computer viruses continue to pose an ever present threat with one in every 16 emails received by businesses last year containing a virus.
The figures were based on MessageLabs' email security systems, which scan messages sent to 10,000 companies around the world, including 6,000 based in the UK.
A company which has recently turned to Cobweb to help manage its communication requirements including addressing its spam and virus issues is Innocent Drinks, the makers of 100% fresh fruit smoothies.
Innocent was experiencing high volumes of viruses and spam.
Andrea Kalavsky, Systems Magician (aka IT Systems Manager), would spend valuable time scanning and blocking up to 20 spam messages per mailbox daily.
To combat this problem, Innocent opted for a Microsoft Hosted Exchange Service from Cobweb Solutions.
This involved handing the 24*7 management of its email, including spam and virus protection, archiving, backup and remote access capabilities to Cobweb Solutions.
The service is based on a predictable pay-per-user pricing scheme, so there is no hidden expenditure.
Andrea Kalavsky, of Innocent Drinks commented: "Now that Cobweb Solutions is managing our communications and messaging, we no longer have to worry about email downtime".
"Nor do we have to address the threats from viruses and spam as Cobweb has it all under control." For Cobweb's resellers, the MessageLabs partnership presents them with an even stronger proposition.
After all, email is critical to the smooth-running of the majority of organisations, but with the constant and time-consuming headache of managing email security and spam, businesses need to be assured that they are receiving first-class protection from their hosted email services provider.
Cobweb's managed services portfolio goes beyond just simple email and email security to include email archival for long-term data storage and mobile email solutions to facilitate remote and flexible working.
