Tap Cap Puts Consumer In Control
Nestle Water and Crown have completed a year's project to redesign the closure for Nestle's five-litre PET bottle.
Textureplay is aimed at providing inspiration to package designers and brand marketers seeking novel ways to differentiate products on store shelves, said Crown.
Each Textureplay sample kit contains a variety of aerosol cans that showcase decorative finishes and feature images of children laughing and playing with toys of different forms and tactile properties.
Depending on the specific application and desired result, designers and marketing managers can choose from several new Textureplay technologies, said Crown.
Pearlescent finish provides aerosol cans with a soft, glowing effect, whilst colour-change finish can transform colours from brilliant to soft with a simple rotation of the package, it is claimed.
In addition, sparkle finish offers a premium yet retro-industrial look and soft touch over-varnish creates a highly tactile matte effect that encourages consumers to reach out, touch and examine products.
Lee Bradley, business development manager at Crown Aerosols Europe, explained: "By nature, aerosol containers are dispensing systems, which makes them one of the few forms of packaging that consumers truly interact with.
As a result, outward appearance and feel are extremely important factors in establishing a positive brand image and capturing consumer attention at retail." He added: "Textureplay is geared toward helping marketers and package designers address these issues when launching a new product or refreshing the look of an existing brand.
Showcasing an array of aesthetic and tactile design possibilities, Textureplay sample kits can help foster the type of creativity necessary to engage consumers and give brands the competitive edge.".
