Mould and die simulation checks for NC
mistakes

A new mould and die simulation package is featured in a range of NC verification and optimisation software that detects mistakes in NC programs and improves CNC program efficiency Mould and die simulation - VERICUT's new Mould and Die simulation program is specially designed for the machining challenges faced by Mould makers and is competitively priced for this specialist market

With a simplified user interface, programmers are more easily able to check for gouges and collisions between stock, fixtures, and cutting/non-cutting portions of the tool.

The program supports 3-axis milling, drilling and EDM operations.

VERICUT Mould and Die Machining also offers built-in optimisation capabilities that make NC programs faster and more efficient.

The optimisation feature works on a simple premise that less material is removed and decrease as more material is removed.

Based on the amount of material removed, the software automatically calculates and inserts improved feed rates where necessary.

Without changing the cutting tool trajectory, the updated information is applied to a new CNC program.

In addition to saving time and money in the machining process, benefits include improved surface finish quality, longer tool life, and less wear and tear on machines.

Last but not least, with optimised NC programs there is no need for machinists to closely monitor the job and manually adjust feed rates.

Additional features of VERICUT Mould and Die include - customisable user interface - the 'Customiser' feature enables the user to create (or modify) a custom interface for VERICUT.

This is especially useful for shop-floor programming or specialised machining processes such as optimising NC programs for Mould tooling.

By creating an interface that is tailored to the specific verification application, users are able to better streamline the NC programming and prove-out process.

A custom interface also makes the product easier to learn and use - so that everyone in the shop can quickly verify the accuracy and integrity of NC programs, or optimise them for faster, more efficient machining.

Constant gouge checking - another way to verify the accuracy of the machined part against the design model is through VERICUT's enhanced AUTO-DIFF module.

This module enables the user to embed the design model inside the raw stock.

The user then sets a tolerance level offset inside the embedded design model.

When the tool contacts the design model enough to violate the tolerance setting VERICUT reports the error and highlights the gouge.

CAD/CAM interfaces - interfaces are available for many CAD/CAM systems including MasterCAM, Unigraphics, Pro/Manufacture, Catia and Work-NC.

VERICUT runs under Windows and UNIX.

CGTech is the recognised world leader in NC verification/optimisation software technology for manufacturing.
