Cornelius, UK distributors of Engelhard's effect pigment products has announced the latest addition to the Firemist pigment range, Firemist Turquoise.
Measuring Colour At Multiple Angles In Pigments
Cornelius Group PLC will be exhibiting at the European Coatings Show, which will see the debut of a new goniospectrophotometer.
A turquoise colour has now been introduced, extending the range further.
Additionally, three new metallic-looking pigments have been launched.
The Lumina Brass pigment is said to bring a rich, metallic gold effect to plastics, coatings and inks.
Lumina Copper and Lumina Russet offer earth shade colours.
Lumina Colors are claimed to have increased chromaticity at the reflection angle and higher colour purity and clarity than traditional interference colours.
The range offers cleaner shades, improved saturated colours and stronger flip-flop effects in coatings, plastics and inks, said Cornelius.
They are said to be compatible with all types of coating processes and can be used in inks for gravure, flexo and screen printing.
The Engelhard Lumina effect pigments are also claimed to process easily in injection moulding, blow moulding and extrusion processing.
Steve Tuffley, the divisional director for Cornelius, said: "The Lumina Colors really do make a difference.
In solvent and water-borne coating applications, for example, the enhanced reflection creates the look of a three-coat effect in only two coats.
And the dramatic visual impact of these pigments makes them particularly suitable for luxury packaging and luxury goods.".
