Injection mouldings sourced in China
British firm launches broking service for manufacturers to source injection mouldings from China - the service from five factories is offering tooling, moulding, assembly and packaging.
Choosing the wrong plant to partner with causes all sorts of headaches and ultimately leads to relationship breakdown.
China First Plastics is a British based broking service whose sole purpose is to help British businesses source the right plant in China and form an efficient partnership right from the beginning.

Managing director David Walker commented: "the skill of the operation is matching the client with an appropriate plant that is able and willing to produce in the volumes that the client requests as not every factory is best suited to either the high or the low volumes that are being offered." He said: "This has changed dramatically in the last three years.
Whereas previously most Chinese factories would indicate that they are happy to take on all of a British companies component manufacture, they have found often that they have been unable to fulfil the growth requirements laid down by the client leaving behind an unhappy relationship." Following on from the early success of China First Plastics - Walker has successfully introduced a number of clients, both personally and through his Chinese team based outside of Shanghai, to potential toolmakers and moulders concentrated in the local region for good logistical reasons in such a huge country.
Walker further pointed out that the success of CFP very much depends on the 'on the ground' local support through his Chinese office and whilst CFP does not undertake to project manage it assists the client wherever possible as the client contracts directly with the Chinese manufacturer.
Walker's team keeps a watching brief to ensure smooth transition of production from West to East.
Inevitably the brief of CFP has become much wider as clients can require a mixture of processes for the completed product.
Whilst injection moulding is undertaken for 500kN to 4MN (50-4000 tonf) machines they are partnering plants in extrusion, blow moulding, vacuum forming and mandrell winding, along with associated packaging companies where savings can be made.
There are many cost savings to be achieved throughout the whole process and British businesses looking to increase margins by sourcing from China would be wise to look at the opportunities that a broking service can provide.
