Mobile vacuum calibration
The new VCS-1000 range of mobile vacuum calibration systems from Chell Instruments has been developed for in-situ calibration comparisons using on-board capacitance manometer Transfer Standards.
Vacuum, pressure and gas flow calibration
Chell's BS/EN/ISO/IEC 17025 accredited Calibration Laboratory has dramatically widened its scope, providing Vacuum, pneumatic Pressure and Gas Flow calibration.
The LRM allows the operator to establish the standard test pressure using a precision manual regulator thus avoiding the greatest source of error in leak measurement.
Leak rates are directly measured using thermal Gas Mass Flowmeters, avoiding the gross errors associated with volumetric measurements.
To preserve battery life, the large, clear, backlit LCD displays need be switched on only for as long as it takes to make a measurement, while the precision measuring instrumentation within the LRM remains powered.
The on-board battery may be charged using the external charger provided with the instrument.
The success of the LRM has spawned several bespoke variations, for example the battery may be omitted and leak rate ranges may be tailored to specific needs.
One variation is fitted with an on-board vacuum pump for negative pressure leak testing, while another has a large diameter 'fast-fill ' bypass valve, allowing the test pressure in large volumes to be established quickly.
This design flexibility makes Chell's LRM unique in the leak detector field.
The inlet port is fitted with a 15micron filter to protect the flowmeters from particulate contamination, aiding the serviceability and long term stability of the instrument.
The LRM is supplied complete with ISO/IEC 17025 calibration certificates for each sensor and lifetime support is offered through Chells repair and UKAS accredited calibration facility.
