Capsule/tablet weight sorter for
clinical trials
CI Electronics has delivered a SADE SP Benchtop capsule/tablet weight sorter to Industria Farmaceutica Serono for the preparation of clinical trial supplies.
Industria Farmaceutica Serono, an affiliate of Merck Serono SA, has taken delivery of a SADE SP Benchtop capsule/tablet weight sorter from CI Electronics The instrument is used for the 100 per cent weight sorting of capsules of investigational medicinal products (IMPs) based on new chemical entities (NCEs) developed by Industria Farmaceutica Seronumber

He concludes: "Although we have only had the weight sorter for a few months, it has performed extremely well and been completely reliable in that time, giving us full confidence in the reliability of our IMP supplies for clinical trials.

A major benefit of the compact SADE SP Benchtop sorter is its versatility and its ability to sort any size or shape of tablet or capsule (up to 2000mg and accurate to +/-1mg) with no need for change parts and minimal operator adjustment.
For every batch that is sorted, a report is printed automatically for attaching to the batch record.
All contact parts for the SADE SP Benchtop are manufactured from 316 stainless steel and electro-polished and the unit can quickly and easily be dismantled for clean down.
