Placement added to electronics manufacture, design
CIL, the Andover based electronics manufacturing and design company, has upgraded its SMT capability by installing a new Tyco MIRAE 1030 SMT placement machine.
CIL plans to upgrade the line to a dual placement line in the near future.
CIL now has four completely compatible SMT lines capable of handling high feeder-count assemblies and lead free components.
CIL managing director, John Boston, said: "Over the past three years we have increased our SMT capability by 100% and now have capacity to place 72,000 components per hour.
This investment in a fourth SMT line, coupled with investments in other areas is enabling us to cope with the increased demand from our customers as well as attract new customers at the rate of two a month.
These customers are all in the high technology sector and are not manufacturing offshore but seeking advanced manufacturing in the UK.
CIL has always invested heavily in new equipment and staff training and we are now reaping the rewards.".
