Hitachi is now working with Claricom to offer customers a market leading Package Coding Management System for the central network control of coding and labelling.

The world-famous Hitachi brand has become the latest manufacturer of coding equipment to recognise the benefits of Claricom's proven Packaging Coding Management Systems in the elimination of coding errors Hitachi is a name that many people will recognise from its diverse product range of home entertainment systems, domestic appliances, electronic components and high speed trains

Recently, the company has caused quite a sensation as the latest inkjet coder manufacturer to enter the European market.

Hitachi has made a dramatic entrance in to the coding and labelling market with their range of continuous inkjet printers, although it has been quite active in the Asian region since 1975.

Hitachi is now working with Claricom to offer customers a market leading Package Coding Management System for the central network control of coding and labelling.

"The market pressures on manufacturers are for more products, more promotions and more consumer choice," the company explained.

"This means more line changes and more complexity for manufacturers, so it is essential that we offer solutions that remove the otherwise inevitable human error." Managing director of Euromark, Hitachi's business partner in the UK, Ian Luck, explained: "Claricom provides a comprehensive suite of Package Coding Management software that is proven to eliminate risk and increase accuracy.

It is important that manufacturers select the most appropriate coder for an application, not simply what they may have had before, and Claricom is unique in providing customers a coder independent solution that enables this freedom of choice." Hitachi believes that its equipment provides a truly new level in equipment reliability and claims the lowest available running costs of any continuous inkjet printer, capable printing on a broad range of materials from paper and card to cans, bottles and other rigid packaging.

"The importance of selecting the right coder is apparent," commented Phil Molloy, Claricom UK sales manager.

"In many ways coding is a 'necessary evil', adding little or no value to a manufacturer, and therefore it is essential to buy the right machine for the right application to ensure uptime and reliability.

Claricom provides a patented coder-independent solution that enables manufacturers to buy the right equipment for the right application." Richard Vaughan, technical manager at Claricom customer Katsouris (Bakkavor), said: "The Claricom Package Coding Management System eliminates all potential errors of printed information at source - whether a date, batch code or pricing.

It is the most cost effective and flexible system focused on ensuring accuracy on pack and negates the need for camera based verification systems that are expensive, inflexible and time consuming in set-up." Claricom has a long and established track record in the supply of Package Coding Management Systems, with customers including Bakkavor, Dairy Crest, Greencore, Northern Foods, PepsiCo and more.

"Our products are compatible with most leading makes and models of coding equipment and we are pleased to add Hitachi to this extensive list," concluded Molloy.
