The latest enhancements to package coding management systems offer even greater accuracy in food products packaging.
Accurate package coding is essential to product quality and to traceability.
The Claricom suite of package coding management software (PCMS) is proven to eliminate human error and typically provides a return on investment in under 12 months, said Claricom.
All of the product specific information including coding rules, such as product life is maintained with the Claricom Clarisoft product database.
Clarisoft is used to create the templates that define the appearance of the image, such as date formats, text size, traceability, font and position information.
By using a single controlled source of all coding information, duplicate systems or repeated data entry are avoided.
A Clarinet network automatically sets up all the primary coders (Videojet Excel).
Clarinet is said to allow operators to use portable bar code readers to confirm that the correct product and correct packaging has been selected for a particular line.
This secure way of set-up also includes the products source information that is automatically integrated in to the batch code for added traceability.
Across its packaging facility Thise Mejeri Amba produces a range of dairy products including milk, cheese and butter.
"Claricom offers ease of use and an intuitive secure setup of information on pack" explained Jens Moibaek, the company's technical supervisor.
Claricom believes that it has pioneered the introduction of package coding management systems to the market.
Reliability is achieved using a suite of standard, flexible and proven software, which combines to deliver an overall package coding management system.
"Coding accuracy is essential for traceability and for customer confidence.
The Claricom PCMS is proven to remove the human error that is otherwise inevitable; to reduce costs and, importantly, remove the unquantifiable risk of lost business," added Moibaek.
