Solid base on which to turn one-offs
Colchester has combined the stability of a solid base and an advanced control and software package into the Combi K-Series CNC lathe for one-off components or batch production.
Prior to setting up the production unit, Bost SK enjoyed considerable success through the Colchester product range of lathes as agent for Colchester Lathe in Slovakia and, based on experience gained from knowledge of the product and feedback from customers in the area, made the decision to invest in the latest Tornado two and three-axis machines.
The factory has ordered three Colchester Tornado lathes; a T4, two-axis and one each T6M and T8M three-axis mill/turn centres for producing components for automotive, electronic and security sector customers.
Bost SK, which employs 70 people, has grown from its three founder start up employees in 10 years.
Said Berry: "It is a rare opportunity to get machine tools on prime time television news with a positive investment story.
It will certainly help our export activities in that country.".
