UK machine tool builder records EMO
orders
Colchester-Harrison reports that it sold over EUR 1 million worth of machine tools during the first days of EMO 2007, with 60% of orders originating in Germany.

He explained: "This show was opportune for us with the new heavy duty Tornado T4HD, the uprated MS and MSY mill/turn centres and the German market in particular expressed considerable interest in the control system and flexibility of the large capacity Alpha 1800XS combination lathe".
The introduction of the new range of Storm VMCs was well received by distributors worldwide due to the breadth of the machine range.
The new range provides a solution in the SP models for general purpose subcontracting work at a very competitive price, the SD for heavier duty demands and the high accuracy, higher speed machining scenarios are met with the SN and SV variants.
Added Berry: "These machines are pitched against a whole raft of competitors and our distributors from Germany, France, Benelux, Scandinavia and Russia were keen to exploit the distinct advantages for them to sell in their home territories.
It was also satisfying that the overall specifications of both the turning and milling products drew serious interest from new companies approaching us to represent the Colchester-Harrison range in the very competitive Far East and South American markets.".
