Web enabled controller provides high performance device control and bi-directional communication via the Internet and includes virtual I/O support for more flexible configuration.

Control Technology Corp., a leading manufacturer of automation controllers that integrate motion control, I/O, user interfaces, and enterprise connectivity, has released the Model 5104 Blue Fusion Web Enabled controller In addition to providing high performance device control and bi-directional communication via the Internet, the Model 5104 controller features the following enhancements: * virtual I/O support for more flexible configuration and use in larger, more demanding applications

* C programming access to controller resources for customized extension of Blue Fusion applications.

* expanded non-volatile memory area for local data logging and file storage.

* wide range power supply (10 - 27 VDC) for low-power systems.

* full support of Modbus TCP or Serial Master and Slave protocols.

Virtual I/O - Virtual I/O enables users to connect two Blue Fusion controllers together over an Ethernet connection in a master/slave configuration, and run a control program on the master that has full access to the resources on the slave unit.

This essentially doubles the I/O available, providing up to 100 I/O points plus additional resources and performance for more demanding applications.

Integral support for two controller units can also simplify system design where wiring is distributed in two different locations that must be controlled via a single program.

C Program Integration - C program integration enables users to write C routines that have full, multi-tasking access to the Model 5104 ' s programming resources.

C routines can be used to do simple tasks such as unit conversions, or more complex tasks such as customized PID algorithms and communication protocols for proprietary hardware or legacy databases.

Expanded non-volatile memory - the Model 5104 features a new, larger flash disk with PC-like file structure, which can be used to update firmware, store recipes and documentation, or log local data.

When used in conjunction with a server or other more centralized data repository, local data logging provides a place to store process data if the server becomes unavailable for any reason.

The Model 5104 Blue Fusion controller is available now.
