'System on chip' service increases automation
Turnkey 'system on chip' design and manufacturing service caters for companies outside the 'electronics elite', providing increased intelligence and automation for minimum cost.
Interactive powered devices can be reduced in cost
Novel control technology interacts with powered products to replace crude "on/off" functionality with natural and responsive control that is directly related to a user's hand movement.
The Mezoe software, combined with the Synopsys DesignWare BlueIQ Core and Bluetooth Development Kit, provides designers with complete interoperability and ease of integration for Bluetooth applications.
The introduction to the Star IP Program follows close collaboration between Mezoe and Synopsys to deliver the recently qualified Synopsys DesignWare BlueIQ Core.
The DesignWare BlueIQ Core enables customers to incorporate a Bluetooth baseband controller and link manager as an intelligent integrated subsystem into new or existing silicon designs.
To enable this, Mezoe has licensed to Synopsys a BlueIQ adapted version of its Link Manager software which was the starting point for that used in the majority of qualified Bluetooth designs.
Working in close cooperation with the Synopsys design team, Mezoe developed the integrated control software for the baseband controller in just eight months.
"Mezoe's Bluetooth software combined with our DesignWare BlueIQ Core and Bluetooth Development Kit provides developers with a qualified, easy-to-use solution to cost-effectively add Bluetooth connectivity into their products," said Phil Dworsky, director of marketing and applications, IP and Systems Group at Synopsys.
"Mezoe is the first company to offer software through our Star IP Program, which currently includes processor cores from leading players such as Infineon, MIPS, and NEC that can be used to host Mezoe's Bluetooth software".
Paul Williams, Operations Manager at Mezoe, commented, "The combination of the Synopsys BlueIQ Core and Mezoe's higher layer software provides a complete and fast-to-market solution for customers wanting to incorporate Bluetooth into new or existing designs".
"Our software is now available to developers who want to make their own silicon rather than rely on commercial chip sets".
"We see this as enabling a whole new era of Bluetooth market growth".
