Colortrac adds a new range of 25in large format CCD scanners to the SmartLF Gx product line.

Colortrac, the world's leading supplier of large format CIS scanners, is proud to announce the latest addition to its extensive range -the SmartLF Gx 25 scanners These high resolution CCD scanners are priced very competitively with the entry level monochrome scanner retailing around the US$5,000 mark

This will enable a new market for large format imaging with customers who have previously outsourced their scanning and copying jobs or, who have been limited by inability to justify the purchase based on cost.

Gx 25 scanners are designed to provide cost effective scanning and copying for architects, graphic designers, construction engineers, utility, oil and gas, mining companies and other industries that need to archive, reproduce or distribute information and images contained in large documents.

The new range features the latest in 1200dpi optical resolution CCD technology and is designed to provide fast, high quality scans, copies or file distribution of A1 (D-size) wide format photographs, satellite images, artwork, graphic designs, posters and other originals that contain fine image detail and require full colour or monochrome image capture.

Capable of scanning up to 25in wide images, Gx 25 will also capture accurately the finest details of maps, engineering drawings, blueprints, site plans, architectural renderings and many other technical documents in monochrome or colour at resolutions from 100 up to 9600dpi.

Original images can be captured off media from 6in up to 35in wide of any length.

The GxT versions provide motorised thick media scanning of mounted originals up to 0.8in (20 mm) thickness.

SmartLF Gx 25 is launching in the European and other 220 to 240VAC countries first with USA and Asian specification products shipping later in Q1 2007.

Managing Director Graham Tinn said, "The SmartLF Gx 25 is the second colortrac product to feature our innovative, ultra compact digital camera unit (DCU) 1200dpi CCD imaging technology".

"The SmartLF Gx scanners position colortrac as the only large format scanner manufacturer to offer both CIS and CCD based scanners".

"Access to both of these imaging technologies allows our customers to choose the best scanners for their application while benefiting from the SmartLF philosophy ~ high quality, good performance and excellent value for money".

There are three versions of the SmartLF Gx 25 scanner; monochrome, colour and express colour and any model can be upgraded on-site quickly and easily by return email.

This allows customers to buy the right scanner for their current project with the peace of mind that they can enhance their system capability should they need to.
