Milling machines gain EUR 30 million
orders
Over 80% of some EUR 30 million orders for its CNC fixed bed and travelling column milling machines have come from abroad, reports Spanish machine tool builder Maquinaria CME.

Amongst the ongoing operations, CME has obtained, under the guidance of a European multinational specialised in starting up 'turnkey' industrial facilities, an order for the delivery of a total of eight machines amounting to EUR 6 million.
These are travelling column milling/boring machines and large sized adapted machines (12m horizontal and 4m vertical, boring machines with indexers, etc.) of the MQ, FST and BMPT models, which will be installed in plants in China and Thailand.
CME delivered the first cell in March and will supply the remaining cells gradually throughout the rest of the year.
In the energy sector, the company has several orders for the oil, gas, and wind sectors.
In the oil sector, CME is working on a project for use in a Turkish plant, for two facing machines, with 16m longitudinal travel and turning of elements used in oil and gas extraction.
Furthermore, it has just delivered a travelling column milling machine to a customer in the oil sector in Saudi Arabia, which represents a technological milestone.
CME has designed and patented a special head for drilling three holes at the same time in the machining of heat exchangers, providing the required robustness and rigidity.
The validation of this first unit will allow for the entry of a new order for at least two similar machines for the same customer.
The manufacturer from Itziar has just delivered a large machine for machining in the gas and heavy machinery sectors to BKV, a Russian state company with activity in different sectors.
CME delivered BKW with another milling/boring machine last year and has just received the order to manufacture a further two.
Moreover, in the wind sector, it will soon be delivering large sized machines to Tami, Irmel and other companies, for wind turbine components.
Furthermore, it is in the assembly phase of a 5-axis, FS1T machine for Michelin's R and D department in Thailand.
This milling machine, the fifth for the same plant, will be used for the construction of prototypes and moulds for the tyre manufacturer.
