Additionally, CimWorks VisualSPC version 4.6, a powerful statistical process control software package incorporates new features including OPC (OLE for Process Control) connectivity tools for broader access to enterprise-wide data, tighter integration with MINITAB for seamless Six Sigma analysis, and e-mail alarm notification for remote supervision.
CimWorks VisualSPC data collection software is a WindowsT-based software package with the flexibility and control required for data collection, analysis and reporting.
Using the OPC interface, the industrial standard for inter-device communication, VisualSPC links directly to other software systems like GE Fanuc's CIMPLICITY industrial automation software or to any other devices or software with OPC servers.
The OPC connectivity allows VisualSPC to collect and analyze data from other systems for the purposes of traceability, advance quality analysis, failure rates and process improvement.
From the analysis perspective, VisualSPC now offers tighter integration with the MINITAB data analysis tool used extensively in Six Sigma.
The user simply collects data for analysis and selects either VisualSPC's native VisualSPC Analyst tool or MINITAB.
If MINITAB is selected, the software is configured to seamlessly upload the data to the MINITAB application.
The software treats both analysis options with the same level of ease and automation.
Finally, to enhance remote supervisory capabilities, VisualSPC 4.6 now includes e-mail alarm notification.
When an alarm is triggered, the software is configured to send an alert to a pre-selected recipient's PC, text pager or text cell phone.
