Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) has placed a contract with Concast Standard for the supply of new withdrawal and straightening units on an existing six-strand Concast billet caster It is the first step in an upgrade programme that will transform the existing machine into a high-speed caster

The new W/S units are hydraulically actuated, with two unbending radii to accommodate the upgraded caster's faster output speeds.
