Cognex says that Wieland-Werke AG, one of the world's largest copper strip manufacturers, has integrated Cognex's SmartView ICN web inspection system on its copper pickling line in Germany.
"The MVS-8600 frame grabbers expand the range of acquisition options that we offer our customers to meet their most demanding requirements, including fine defect inspection, precision alignment and measurement, and continuous process inspection," said Marilyn Matz, Co-founder and Senior VP of PC Vision for Cognex.
"By combining Cognex's industrial grade vision tools with high-speed, high-resolution Camera Link cameras, customers can address the most challenging manufacturing applications." The MVS-8600 frame grabbers utilize state-of-the-art digital hardware that supports up to 12-bit image acquisition and is less susceptible to noise than analogue frame grabbers.
The high-speed acquisition of the MVS-8600 ensures that line speed will not be impacted, even when acquiring high-resolution images.

For line scan applications, encoder inputs simplify synchronization of the vision system with line speed, saving time and money.
The MVS-8600 frame grabbers utilize standard Camera Link cameras and cables to simplify and lower the cost of system integration.
The two-channel Cognex MVS-8602 supports Base, Dual-Base and Medium Camera Link configurations, and is designed to handle asynchronous, synchronous, and three-tap image acquisition.
Two completely independent channels allow users to connect line scan and area scan cameras to a single MVS-8602 for application flexibility.
The Cognex MVS-8601 is a cost-effective, single-channel frame grabber that can support one Camera Link area or line scan camera.
Like all Cognex frame grabbers, the MVS-8600 Series is equipped with the industry's highest performance machine vision software tools including PatMax geometric pattern matching software, to meet the speed, accuracy and reliability requirements of the most demanding machine vision applications.
These software tools locate objects or patterns, measure their geometric properties, detect defects, and read characters and codes with reliable, accurate and repeatable results. Request a free brochure from Cognex UK ...
