Vision system inspects pizza production
Gunnar Dafgandaring has installed vision from Cognex in order to inspect the production of different varieties of pizzas that is marketing under a common brand "Billy".

Every day 110,000 units of Billy's pan-pizza is manufactured and distributed frozen, to food services and to retail outlets in Sweden and beyond.
Dafgandaring;rd has a long track record of automation and using robots in the food-production.
The first vision-application was installed five years ago.
Dafgandaring;rd has been going from manual to automated inspection in its pizza bakery.
The previous manual inspection was made under complicated circumstances with random sampling that made it difficult for the company to secure a systematic quality control of the production on the pizza-line.
The vision-system from Cognex with In-Sight vision sensors inspects the position of the pizzas on the production line so the look, size and form of the pizzas are correct.
"Our use of the vision-system for automatic inspection is an integrated part of the work for improved quality and a better working environment for the employees on the pizza-line.
Cognex was chosen based on the fact that Cognex have in-depth knowledge of the food industry worldwide" says Ove Rydberg project leader at Dafgandaring;rds.
The vision-system was installed by a Cognex' Partner System Integrator, AVT Industriteknik AB.
AVT also developed a user friendly interface which made it possible for the employees on the pizza-line to make choices of different vision applications and make adjustments of the vision-programme without specific technical skills. Request a free brochure from Cognex UK ...
