Print quality verification on ID readers

DataMan 7500V is the first handheld verification unit that accurately verifies the quality of direct-marked and printed 2D codes

Cognex Corporation, the world's leading supplier of machine vision sensors and industrial ID readers, has announced the DataMan 7500V handheld verifiers The DataMan 7500V is the first handheld verification unit that accurately verifies the quality of direct-marked and printed 2D codes for manufacturers implementing traceability programs in the automotive, aerospace, electronics, healthcare, and defence industries

"Many manufacturers want a portable device to conveniently verify code quality on parts where a fixed station is not practical or where the parts are too large to place onto a fixed station".

"However, the available standards and technology have precluded this option until now," said Justin Testa, Cognex Senior Vice President, ID Products.

"DataMan verifiers are the only handheld devices that ensure uniform illumination and part presentation to achieve reliable, consistent performance over a broad range of parts".

DataMan verifiers enable compliance to the AIM (Association for Automatic Identification and Mobility) Direct Part Mark (DPM) Quality Guideline DPM1-2006.

This new industry-wide standard for 2D codes is the first to take into account the range of mark types and part surfaces used for DPM traceability applications.

The standard ensures consistent code quality verification results across different verification platforms, manufacturing environments and industries.

The DataMan series of handheld verifiers are currently available and include the 7500V corded and 7550V cordless models. Request a free brochure from Cognex UK ...
