She will also demonstrate how different cost tools, models and legacy systems can be controlled through a common user interface, enabling corporate knowledge to be made available on-demand across functional boundaries.
This, in turn, enhances the accuracy and availability of cost data for both new products and variant derivatives, allowing companies to increase their competitiveness through improved 'make or buy' decisions and the close control of manufacturing and procurement costs.
According to Ms Smart: "Companies have never been under more pressure to drive down costs and take advantage of the global economy.
Nowhere is this pressure more acute than in the estimating and purchasing environments." "Effective management of information is the key to accurate and timely cost estimates," she argues.
"Through this presentation - which is supported by a free demonstration CD - delegates will be shown how to harness proven methodologies in order to gain a competitive edge, even in the toughest market conditions.".
