Precision machined parts business expands
Precision machined parts specialist Claro Precision Engineering, which is celebrating 25 years of success, and looks forward to continuing expansion, passing the GBP 5 million mark in 2008.
Various components including the monochrometer, the homogeniser pump, the base plate and all mechanical parts for the new machine were to be produced by the company.
Clive Benson, director of On-Line said: "After previously working with Claro Engineering we were quick to realise that they were an obvious choice.
We knew they could more than do the job required of them." The winning team of Claro Engineering and On-Line Instrumentation, between them, are set to bring major benefits to the dairy industry by manufacturing this new machine.
It has the capability to do a full milk analysis in less than fifteen seconds, with all of the calibration storage, results, calculations and operator interface being performed on an external P.C.
therefore offering a simple solution to the more time consuming classical method of analysis.
Claro Engineering, as well as manufacturing the parts, are also to fully assemble the analyser.
"It was decided," said Mr Benson "to use Claro because we know that they will produce excellent quality products.
They will more than do what is asked of them and will be fully co-operative with our design team.
They are also ISO 9001 accredited, which we know is vitally important to our customers." Howard Chadwick, managing director of Claro Engineering says: "Claro's success has been the ability to supply quality products and service to our customers.
This new contract has given us the opportunity to utilise our full design and build service which we provide from initial concept through to full batch production." The York Infrared Milk Analyser, was the brainchild of Dr.Michael O'Keeffe, who formed the company, On-Line Instrumentation.
The machine, was designed by a small team led by Len Clucas, previously of Grubb Parsons, Steve Ramm and Clive Benson.
Dr.O'Keeffe previously had close links with a company called Multispec, who for several years had produced infrared milk analysers with parts manufactured by Claro Precision Engineering.
