Redgrave-Plumb has over 15 years' experience in the PCB assembly, high reliability and microelectronics sectors.
Redgrave-Plumb's key role as business development manager for Concoat Systems will be to further expand the sales, market penetration and technical support relating to Concoat Systems' flagship Auto-SIR surface insulation resistance test system, MUST II solderability testers, CM cleanliness testers, and SoldaPRO thermal profilers.
Redgrave-Plumb's previous appointments include Area Sales Manager for Contax, Technical Sales Manager for Kulicke and Soffa (UK), and Senior Technical Sales and Marketing Manager for Smiths Industries.
Redgrave-Plumb previously worked for Concoat as a technical sales engineer for five years, leaving the company in March 1997 to develop his career and experience within the wider electronics industry.
Upon creation of the new business division, Concoat Limited and Concoat Systems Managing Director, Graham Naisbitt, contacted Nick and invited him to apply for the new position.
Given Redgrave-Plumb's impressive career track record and the wide sales, marketing and business experience he successfully developed during his career away from Concoat, Redgrave-Plumb proved to be the ideal candidate for such a senior role as 'Number 2' within Concoat Systems.
"I am delighted to be back on board," said Redgrave-Plumb.
"It has been a tough time in the industry, but Concoat has continued on a steady growth path and is a true success story".
"Awareness of the importance of reliability measurement in electronics assembly continues to grow and will become even more significant as we move towards lead-free assembly." Rob Scrivens will support all of Concoat's materials range and the high reliability measurement and process equipment of the more newly created sister division Concoat Systems.
Scrivens also has over 15 years' experience in PCB materials, assembly and high reliability applications typical of Concoat customers.
He has also been on the opposite side of the fence having been a former Concoat customer and knows exactly what Concoat customers need and expect from their technical support representatives.
In addition, Scrivens has a particular depth of experience in assembly materials, ranging from paste, solder wire and flux to cleaning materials and conformal coatings.
Scrivens began his electronics career as a hand assembly operator for Xerox in 1990 and worked his way up to becoming a fully production engineer for the same company within just two years.
Previous appointments include Process Specialist and Sales Engineer roles at former assembly distribution firm Automation; Senior Production Engineer at CEM and bare board firm Gemini Circuits (including for defence and aerospace applications) and most recently Technical Sales Manager and Chemicals Specialist for distribution company Altus Group.
"My extensive experience within the industry has given me an excellent understanding of the kinds of real world problems assembly companies face," comments Scrivens.
"In particular those for which the solution may not lie on a data sheet, or that can affect long term field reliability".
"I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge and expertise with Concoat's customers to further enhance the level of technical support they expect and deserve to receive in the UK." Newly graduated Marie Kaing has recently been appointed Chemist at Concoat.
Kaing has a Masters Degree in Chemistry and Professional Masters Degree in Process Control from the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis in Southern France.
Marie will work alongside Concoat Chief Chemist Phil Kinner, who like Kaing, joined Concoat straight from University.
"As is often the case in research and development, a fresh perspective to old challenges can often lead to major new advances," says Kaing.
"One of my primary aims is to help Concoat create new solutions to old development challenges and to support the evolution of a new range of enhanced and brand new products".
"I am already, for example, helping Concoat to engineer a UV curable conformal coating material that will be tack-free within minutes of processing." Although Kaing will be deeply involved with product development, her role also encompasses supporting customers and dealing with any more involved or unusual technical issues that may arise in the field".
""This makes my job even more interesting because no two days are ever the same," adds Kaing".
""Although I love R and D work, I also love visiting customer sites and solving customer problems to ensure the technology Concoat develops in the lab fulfils its potential in the field and is not compromised by other weaknesses in the process chain.".
