Eight stencil printers purchased
Kostal Ireland has purchased eight MPM UP3000 UltraFlex stencil printers from Ireland-based Contax Production Automation and have been installed at Kostal's two plants.
Production and quality managers are becoming increasingly concerned about the higher temperatures required by lead-free solder process, as this increases the risk of micro-cracking and other undesirable effects.
Furthermore, particular care needs to be taken when storing spare components for rare or obsolete systems, as they cannot be replaced if damaged.
McDry ultra low humidity cabinets address both these problems.

SELEX Sensors and Airborne Systems (SandAS), one of Europe's leading defence electronics companies has recently purchased three McDry DXU-1001 units.
Gareth Smale, SELEX SandAS Production Engineer commented, "Our components are very expensive to produce and because of the nature of our work it is imperative that they are kept secure - the McDry cabinets allow us to store our components safely and ensure they are kept in perfect condition.
Metrology company, Renishaw plc reinforced these views.
"We now have two McDry cabinets," said Damian Lai, Senior Production Engineer.
"We manufacture precision measuring equipment, so there is no room for component failure.
As a precaution, all moisture sensitive devices are stored in the McDry cabinets in reels or waffle trays," he said.
Ultra Electronics - Controls uses the McDry units for long term storage.
Explained Bradley Smith, Production and Inventory Manager, "Our four McDry cabinets are used to protect and store components used within the civil aerospace market, these components are very costly to replace, thus perfect storage conditions are paramount".
When choosing the right humidity cabinets, service and support was a critical factor.
Gareth Smale at SELEX SandAS remarked, "Contax is a great service provider.
They advised us well and have provided excellent support.
This was very important to us".
His comments were reinforced by Renishaw's Damian Lai.
"We are completely satisfied with the system and the advice and service received from Contax," he added.
Whilst Bradley Smith at Ultra Electronics - Controls added, "Contax have been very helpful and sorted out any initial queries quickly and effectively".
