Benchtop inspection system is for very small parts
An 'ultra simple', highly precise, benchtop AOI inspection system can inspect extremely small components, yet the system is small enough to fit any where in the production process.
Eight stencil printers purchased
Kostal Ireland has purchased eight MPM UP3000 UltraFlex stencil printers from Ireland-based Contax Production Automation and have been installed at Kostal's two plants.
The FX-D can be used as a stand alone or in-line system, and can be supplied with or without a heat facility.
It can be field retrofitted with any available option, such as servo-driven pumps, jetting valves, weight scales or even a conveyor.
Furthermore, the system can support two independently controlled Z-heads for a sequential dispense mode, so allowing different materials to be dispensed within a single process.
This can provide 20 percent greater throughput with no loss of accuracy.
For in-line applications, the 'pipeline' conveyor mode reduces handling time by up to 50 percent by transferring products in parallel.
The 508mm x 508mm dispense area and machine maintenance points are all easily accessible to minimise downtime.
Other features include: * Benchmark software, a Microsoft Windows-based system that provides fast, user-friendly program creation and changeover * Highly accurate gantry using precision ball screws driven by closed-loop DC servometers * Dispense pumps based on proven designs that have been enhanced with closed loop DC servomotors.
These new motors provide finer dispense resolution and adjustable speeds for faster, more precise, delivery.
In addition, different auger screw pitches are available for applications that have more stringent volume requirements "This is a truly flexible system," commented Mike Rapson, Managing Director at Contax .
"Most dispense platforms are limited by the range of applications that they can cover, but the new Camalot FX-D breaks all those barriers," he said.
"It provides the flexibility and performance that were previously only available at the high end of the market in a very cost effective package," he finished.
