METAV focused on systems integration, optimisation
Manufacturing technology exhibition, METAV Dusseldorf 2006, focused on machining systems integration and automation, as well as optimising machine performance, reports Reinhard Guserle.
METAV Committee chairman Detlev Elsinghorst is highly optimistic: "Next year will witness all the available space in the eight halls of the Dusseldorf exhibition centre being fully booked, and we may well, in fact, even find ourselves a bit tight for space".
The METAV will take place March 31 -April 4, 2008 in Dusseldorf, Germany.
In even-numbered years the trade fair has become firmly established as the largest international technology showcase displaying the full range of manufacturing technology and automation in Germany for European manufacturers and customers alike, said the VDW (Verein Deutscher Werkzeugmaschinenfabriken - Association of German Machine Tool Factories).
In 2008 METAV will be doubly attractive for visitors and exhibitors, coinciding as it will directly with the two top international exhibitions: WIRE - the International Wire and Cable Trade Fair and TUBE - the International Pipe and Tube Trade Fair.
The VDW said that there will be an even more comprehensive display than before of technology for metalworking for all users groups.
The METAV will contribute the complete range of manufacturing technology with special emphases on machine tools, manufacturing systems, precision tools, automated material flow, computer technology, industrial electronics, and parts and accessories.
The WIRE event will concentrate on machines, tools and materials for wire production and processing, and TUBE will present machines, tools, materials and accessories for the manufacture of pipes and tubes.
Together, the trade fairs will occupy the entire Dusseldorf exhibition centre, offering a forum for well in excess of 100,000 international trade visitors.
