The ways in which spindle nose tooling, collets and workholding equipment can significantly improve productivity and therefore profitability will be demonstrated at a forthcoming show.

Crawford Collets, which was established over one hundred years ago and has its manufacturing plant and headquarters in Witney, Oxfordshire, will be attending the Productivity Partnership Exhibition at the 600 Centre (Loughborough) in October At the show, which runs between the 15th and 17th October, the company will be demonstrating the ways in which its ranges of spindle nose tooling, collets and workholding equipment can significantly improve its customers' productivity and therefore profitability

Crawfords specializes in providing its customers with a complete tooling solution to production problems.

In order to further its capabilities, it launched a range of high quality spindle nose tooling during the summer.

The range, manufactured by the well respected Italian firm Mickros, offers exceptional accuracy and quality at a highly competitive price.

Managing Director of Crawfords, Gerry Wilkin, said "High accuracy spindle nose tooling is now available at a significantly reduced cost.

This will improve the options open to users by enabling them to purchase the highest quality at very competitive prices, enhancing the accuracy of their work whilst giving excellent payback.

The new range reflects Crawfords stance in the market, offering realistic and affordable solutions to production problems".

The Mickros Plus spindle nose tooling range encompasses all major front and back end styles, including Ansi/DIN 69871, BT, HSK and DIN 2080.

It is manufactured using only high quality steels.

All tools are available to 0.005mm TIR as standard with extended items and products for high-speed applications being manufactured to 0.003mm TIR.

Using the Mickros Plus spindle nose tooling in conjunction with the Crawford ER collets enhances the guaranteed accuracies of 0.006mm TIR for the off-the-shelf ER collet range.

In a recent field test, an off-the-shelf Mickros BT40-ER32 collet chuck was fitted with an off-the-shelf collet and a T.I.R reading of 0.0026mm was achieved consistently.

In addition to showing its new spindle nose tooling, which will be demonstrated on a 600 Centre Richmond VMC, Crawfords will be showing a selection of collets and feeds from its comprehensive standard range of high quality tooling and workholding products as well as its wide range of collet chucks including 5C and 16C dead length collet chucks, drawback multibore chucks and quick change drawback collet chucks.

Engineers from the company will be in attendance to discuss specials.
