Tailor-made for CNC lathes, a collet that overcomes limitations of conventional spring collets can offer a change over time of under 1min when used with a quick change collet chuck.

Along with a selection from its comprehensive range of collets and examples of its tool and workholding systems developed for special applications, Crawford Collets will be showing the popular Multibore collet at the Productivity Partnership Exhibition Not specific to bar stock or material size, the Multibore reduces the number of collets required in an application significantly

The Crawford Multibore collet, designed by Crawford's engineers and manufactured in its plant in the UK, offers the most versatile and cost effective means of accurately holding standard collets available.

Designed in conjunction with leading machine tool manufacturers to overcome the limitations of conventional spring collets, the standard Multibore gives a 1/8th inch range on the bore (size range 1/8 to 11/2in), the DIN 6343 Multibore gives a 2mm range on the bore.

It maintains a parallel grip over the entire closure range.

As standard, the Crawford Multibore is supplied with a plain bore but can be supplied in "heavy duty" configuration for holding black bar or operations requiring very heavy machining.

A version is available for use with the Multibore where the machine's working envelope is to be maximized.

The Crawford Multibore, which is tailor-made for CNC lathes, provides even greater cost-reduction when used with the Crawford Collets Quick Change Collet Chuck, which has a change over time of less than one minute due to the use of a single locking device.

The bayonet cap substantially reduces collet change over time.

An elastomeric seal which operates on the bar stock to exclude all swarf from the chuck.
