An ATEX certified gas detector is designed to quickly detect flammable gases in high temperature applications (up to 150 deg C) such as gas turbines, gas-fired drying ovens or coating processes.
SS bodied gas sensor resists chemicals

Personnel at the Corus plant often carry portable radios with power ratings in the 1-5 watt range, producing radio frequency emissions far in excess (ten times or more) of the mandatory EU levels to which most personal gas detectors are tested.
These frequencies can easily trigger false alarms in portable gas detectors.
After trials of portable detectors from a number of suppliers, Crowcon's Gasman was shown to be immune to interference from these high radio frequencies.
Because of this, and because of its small size, low weight and ease of use, Corus decided the Gasman was the most suitable portable detector for use in the plant.
Available for flammable, oxygen and toxic gases, and weighing just 105-130g (depending on sensor type), the Gasman is extremely durable, with high impact resistance and ingress protection to IP67.
When a hazardous gas is detected the device alerts the user with a loud 95 dBA alarm, an extremely bright red/blue visual warning, and also by vibrating.
It now also has ATEX approval for use in hazardous areas at temperatures from -20oC to +65oC.
In addition to a large numerical display for the gas level, the backlit LCD panel clearly indicates battery life remaining and display mode.
During start-up the Gasman displays the type of sensor fitted, and shows if calibration is due within 30 days, if calibration is overdue, or if a service is required. Request a free brochure from Crowcon Detection Instruments ...
