DIN-rail or backplate mounted solid state relays feature second-generation DBC technology for optimum thermal performance and reliability in a wide range of applications.

CoolTech solid state relays incorporating Crouzet's unique DBC (direct bonded copper) technology operate at a lower temperature and have a longer life expectancy than competing products The most sophisticated in their category, CoolTech relays deliver a true nominal load current value at ambient temperatures up to 40 deg C, as well as higher I2t and impulse current values

These advantages derive from the fact that the DBC substrate carrying the SCR die mounts directly onto the heatsink, not in the circuitry housing as in other relays, giving a 40% improvement in heat transfer efficiency.

Fewer solder joints in the path of the load current also help to reduce overall heat dissipation and improve reliability.

Epoxy-free design eliminates expansion/contraction stress on internal components and the risk of catastrophic failure in the event of a load problem.

CoolTech offers the acknowledged benefits of solid state relays, including elimination of moving parts for wear-free and silent operation, high switching speed for improved control accuracy, low power consumption, and no risk of arcing for safety in hazardous environments.

Crouzet's new relays therefore offer the ideal solution for H and V, lighting, medical, food, vending, etcetera applications.

With their exceptional thermal performance, IP20 protection and compliance with Level 3 of the EMC Directive, they assure safe, reliable operation in motor control applications in the most severe industrial environments.

Freed from the necessity for heatsink calculations, users enjoy connect-and-go installation simplicity.

RoHS-compliant CoolTech relays with output voltages up to 600Vac come in three ranges: 22.5mm with nominal single-phase switched current up to 30A, 45mm with nominal single-phase switched current up to 45A (50A soon), and 90mm with 25A nominal three-phase switched current.

CoolTech 22.5mm and 45mm units are available in both relay and contactor configurations, 90mm units in contactor configuration only.

Crouzet can tailor CoolTech relays to specific requirements in terms of signalling, control and power electronics, pre-assembly of multiple relays, and wiring.

Crouzet also offers bespoke solutions based on its wide-ranging skills in motor, sensor, controller and packaging engineering.
