Pressure reducing valve is pillar-less

A pressure reducing valve is pillar-less, which greatly simplifies adjustment of downstream pressure as there are no obstructions and also makes for simplified maintenance.

ARI Armaturen, the globally successful valve producer has extended its product range with Predu, a pressure reducing valve This is an important addition to the ARI product range and extends their 'one-stop-shop' philosophy - with a wide range of user benefits

Applications for the Predu valve include reducing the pressure of steam, vapour/gases and liquids in a variety of industries such as chemical and process engineering, plant construction, as well as general engineering and industry.

More specifically it has applications in laundries, commercial kitchens, the food industry, the timber industry, hospitals, power stations, district heat technology and shipbuilding.

Predu is required in systems where plant items have a working pressure lower than the distribution system pressure.

The main advantage of Predu is its pillar-less design, which greatly simplifies adjustment of the downstream pressure as there are no obstructions.

This is of particular value to OEMs setting up new machinery on site.

The pillar-less design also makes for simplified maintenance, as the whole structure is screwed on and secured by a lock nut.

Its short and compact design allows installation in confined spaces.

The valve offers significant control advantages which include: * Reliable and accurate control of pressure right down to the closed position.

* Downstream pressure maintained at a constant value; even with fluctuating upstream pressures, due to a pressure balanced bellow unit being used and a rolling diaphragm in the actuator gives minimum hysteresis.

* Accurate downstream pressure regulation.

Inevitable pipeline dirt is the enemy of most self-acting pressure reducing valves; it can result in fluctuating downstream pressures particularly under low flow conditions.

This, in turn, can result in safety valves lifting, and the system pressure needing to be significantly lowered to allow the safety valve to re-seat.

However Predu is unique in its tolerance of less than perfect fluid conditions.

Predu is available in nominal diameters of DN15 to DN100, in grey cast iron GG-25 (PN16), nodular iron GGG-40.3 (PN16/PN25) and cast steel GS-C 25 (PN25/PN40).

With an option five sizes of actuator, six graduated set-point ranges, two sizes of water seal pots (depending on valve size and application) and with springs to regulate downstream pressures from 0.2 to 16 bar .

* About ARI-Armaturen - for more that 50 years ARI-Armaturen has been designing and manufacturing specialist valves used for isolating, securing, controlling and steam trapping across a wide range of industrial processes, from process engineering, chemicals, shipbuilding to building automation.
