Customer benefits of less material handling, less scrap and less downtime will accrue from a steel stockholder adding a narrow coil spool winder with integral butt welding Part of an ongoing investment programme at Cashmores, West Midlands, the winder can produce coils up to 457mm width and 2 tonnes
It can also handle strip between 4mm and 55mm wide, with a gauge of up to 3mm.
"Customers have been impressed by the the tightness of the spool and the quality of welding, as well as the savings we can help them achieve.
Each coil joint made will eliminate a coil changeover on the production line, which is pbviously a major benfit on continuous lines where stopping to change coils has a direct impact on productivity." Cashmores processes SS and aluminium at Walsall where 22 processing lines are in action.
