Following the announcement at Subcon 2004 that the show will now be held annually, Subcon 2005 will be the first time in many years that the event will not be collocated with MACH - the UK's leading manufacturing technology event - which occurs every two years.
This presented Subcon's organisers with the opportunity to introduce a complementary zone that should add to the experience of visitor and exhibitor alike.
As past visitor figures clearly show, there as always been a high level of crossover between Subcon and MACH.

Show is primary subcontracting marketing tool
First Index, an online marketplace for buyers and suppliers of custom-manufactured components and assemblies, is using Subcon 2005 to add a new dimension to its sourcing community.
Many of the visitors to Subcon are not only looking for subcontractors, but also control budgets for investment in technology and machine tools for their own manufacturing operations.
At the same time, subcontractors themselves represent one of the most important markets for many machine tool suppliers.
The new Machine Tool Zone gives machine tool companies the chance to reach a wide range of high-level buyers, create new relationships with their marketplace, and support their existing customers by sponsoring joint exhibition areas.
Subcon will only feature the Machine Tool Zone in years where there is no MACH event, and is pleased to have received the official support of the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA), organisers of the MACH exhibitions, as well as a wide range of other influential industry bodies.
The impressive array of organisations giving their official support to Subcon 2005 represent all aspects of the manufacturing supply chain.
As well as the MTA they include the GTMA, The Surface Engineering Association (SEA), The Cast Metals Federation (CMF), The Confederation of British Metalforming (CBM), the Association of Industrial Laser Users (AILU) and the British Engineering Manufacturers Association (BEMA).
Subcon Event Director Jon Hughes said, " Now Subcon is appearing annually machine tool companies have the opportunity to support subcontracting and Subcon exhibitors in a much closer way".
" Subcontractors represent one of the most important markets for machine tool companies, and so the chance to sponsor the Subcon event and exhibit alongside their customer base is extremely appealing".
" We are in discussion with several companies at the moment about how they can directly support their customers at the show." Subcon 2005 is the UK's only exhibition dedicated to subcontract manufacturing.
Subcon covers the whole spectrum of contract manufacturing and gives visitors the opportunity to source all their outsourcing needs under one roof.
The products and services on show at Subcon range from machined parts, castings, forgings and pressed components to electronic assemblies, sheet metal fabrications, plastic and rubber, metal finishing and full design and manufacture services.
Complementing the show will be a full programme of workshops and presentations from industry-leading organisations. Request a free brochure from Subcon ...
