Subcontracting topic papers called for

The UK Subcon 2005 conference entitled 'Sourcing and subcontracting in global markets - survival strategies for buyers and suppliers' will be held alongside the Subcon exhibition.

The Subcon 2005 conference entitled 'Sourcing and subcontracting in global markets - survival strategies for buyers and suppliers' will be held alongside the Subcon exhibition on 24th to 26th May 2005 at the NEC Birmingham The conference content will be highly practical with the emphasis on lessons learnt in real situations, and proven strategies for success

This conference programme will be arranged into three strands covering the areas of Lean Manufacturing; Adding Value Through Technology; and Local, National and International Collaboration.

The lean strand will examine how to develop products that take advantage of lean manufacturing environments, and show how subcontractors have applied lean and improved their service to customers.

The technology strand will look at the benefits of exploiting advanced manufacturing equipment and using new technologies to build a competitive advantage into your products.

The collaborative strand will look at local, national and international partnerships in supply chain development, international sourcing agreements, and self-help initiatives.

Organisations and individuals interested in contributing a twenty-minute presentation to the conference should email a 250 word synopsis to Subcon@sticklebacks.com by Monday 21st March.
